Vicky Blue Eyes

Vicky blue eyes knew everyone. And everyone, it is said, knew Vicky Blue Eyes. But that isn't what makes this story so incredible. What makes this story so incredible is that Vicky Blue Eyes was just a normal girl. She wasn't looking for anything from anyone, and was happy to be left to her own devices and with her friends.

Ok, I lied. Vicky Blue Eyes wasn't 100% normal. More like 90% normal. The big difference between Vicky Blue Eyes and Joe Smoh or Susan Everybody is the fact that her blue eyes, piercing as they were, held a secret.

They were the eyes of an Ice Witch. Even Vicky had only recently learned that she was an Ice Witch, though the clues had been there all along. She had always been able to stop crying, movement and speech just through staring at someone for long enough.

But why?, she wondered. Why was she, Vicky Blue Eyes different? She wanted to be normal, but was stuck with the power of an Ice Witch. This meant, that although she would get the chance to become very powerful and very rich and very fantastical looking, she would always be shunned by the normal people in the kingdom of Socilia.

So when she was told, she wandered off into the woods to think it over. Everyone knew the rituals - even those who were not Ice Witches. They had tried to keep it a secret, but boy, had that failed! Ha ha ha!, as the ROPAIW (Right Order of People Against Ice Witches) said in their annual letter to members.

In the woods, she just wandered, talking to animals (didn't I mention that power already?) and sang melidious songs that just flowed from her subconcious. It was a pretty magical sight, actually.

Then, out of the blue, there was a puff of blue smoke and standing infront of Vicky, hands on her hips, was a woman. Vicky came up to her and asked "Hi, my name's Vicky! What's yours?"

The girl looked at her, blue eyes flashing. "My name is Sophie. I am the head of YIWoS. I have come for you."

"YIWoS? What the sugar is that?" Vicky asked, puzzled.

"Oh, silly me. You are yet uninitiated. YIWoS stands for Young Ice Witches of Socilia." Sophie smiled, her pink lips and pale rose cheeks providing contrast against the white winter forest.

"Why are you here for me?" Vicky asked.

"Why, you are a Ice Witch, aren't you?" she looked over her shoulder as if she was checking something. "Yes, you are. Just checking."

'Still. WHY DO YOU WANT ME?" Vicky asked.

"Simple. We will teach you how to be an Ice Witch. A beautifully charming, wealthy and powerful Ice Witch." Sophie replied nonchalantly, shaking her shoulders casually.

"But, Sophie, I don't want to be an Ice Witch. I want to be normal, be myself."

Sophie looked at her in the eye. "Being an Ice Witch is being yourself. Being something else is not being true to yourself. Think it over." She vanished, leaving Vicky to sit down in the forest on a log and think it over.

As she sat, she saw birds chirp, ants work, and squirrels scold. They were just being who they were, she realized. And so should she!

She yelled out. "SOPHIE! CAN YOU HEAR ME?" Sure enough, or it would be thought so, she heard her and appeared in a flash of brilliant blue smoke.

"What?" she asked, nonchantly, eyes giving away what the face sought to hide.

"I have changed my mind! I want to be who I am!" she shouted for all the world to hear.

"Oh, Vicky! I knew you would!" Sophie cried, embracing the slightly emberassed Vicky.

And with a wave of her hand, Sophie, along with Vicky, were gone, leaving the forest as it had been.

The End.
