(Not actual bear that she met - PETA would have our heads!)
In the deepest part of the woods, nestled protectively just inside Tasla Provincial Park there stood a small cottage. An old fashioned, yet luxurious stone and wood cottage. A thin line of smoke drifted up from the chimney, on it’s way to the clouds from the pot of tea and bowls of porridge (maple-apple flavor).
The mother bear, Collette, placed the bowls in front of her husband, Nick, and there little baby cub, Stefani. The daddy bear tried it, but it was too hot! So off they went, door closed (but not locked, who else was there in this part of the woods?) to find some delicious honey and let their porridge cool.
Now Vicky was a charming little blond, often seen with sparkly diva glasses, and radiant smile all the animals adored and loved. But she was hungry that morning.
See, her family was very poor and her brother’s had eaten their food - and hers - leaving her with nothing for the whole entire day. So off she went to look for some food, like berries, honey, or something else. She was not really looking for other types of food, but she was willing to follow a scent if one so happened to come by.
So a little into the woods, it happened. She caught the aromas of maple-apple porridge drifting into the woods from somewhere else. Following the scent, she soon found her way to the bear’s cottage. There, she knocked on the door (no breaking & entering for her). No one answered and she waited, but still no one. So she sat down and settled in to wait for the homeowner to come back.
Soon enough, the bears trundled back from their hunt, honey comb in hand. Papa bear, mama bear & baby bear and looked at Vicky.
“Who are you?” growled the daddy bear, though not in a scary way.
“I’m Vicky of the woods” she replied in her very happy voice, smiling.
“What do you want?” asked mama bear.
“Do you have any food to spare?” asked Vicky.
“Can we, huh, mommy?” Stefani asked. “Can we? Please?”
“Sure we can” said the mama bear, smiling at her cub. “Come inside” she told Vicky, “we can share some food”.
In they went, a happy foursome, where they fed Vicky all sorts of nice things like maple-apple porridge and honeycomb. Then they played a few games, like Monopoly and Charades, laughing and having so, so much fun.
At the end of the night, after binge watching four seasons of The Big Bear Theory, the favorite show of them all, they gave her a basket full of all kinds of good things, like jellybeans and bread, honey and chocolate. And some fruit, duh. They didn’t want her obese.
They then bid her farewell and off she went, into the woods back to her home. But before they went, they told her to come back anytime because they had enjoyed her so much.
And so to her home, she went. Happy and healthy, and full to the brim. And that is the story of Vicky & The Three Bears.
