Fact: Valentines Day occurs every year on Febuary 14. It is a day to celebrate your loved ones and those who you love. Today, gifts include flowers, jewlery and chocolate.
A long time ago, but after the dinasours had all been destroyed by a meteor, except for the snakes, crocodiles, turtles and other species that didn't, there was a community. A community of caveman. They lived way out in the Forgotten Plains, a desertish area that had some grass and food, but not very much. Anyways, they lived there.
Now, there was a caveman named Nick Stone. He lived with his extended family, including his mother, grandmother, grandfather, father and three brothers, Squat, Squish & Squib.
He dreamed off exploring the world, not just having this meager living that they had on the plains. Across the 'road' (if you want to call it that, otherwise call it flat expanse of land about 1x1 meters) lived the girl that he wanted to take with him.
Sophie Timber. That was her most magical name, he sighed. The problem was that she didn't even know that he existed! He had to change that if they were going to leave the Plains together, explore and start a family - the Stone-Timbers.
He thought and thought, but couldn't come up with anything. What would a girl like, that of course, wouldn't mean that his family would die? There was no food to share, and flowers didn't grow. Except for the ones that did.
So one day, on the fourth luner cycle of the season, in a month they called HungryCat Month (so named because it was the month that animals came out of hibernation), he had an idea. Maybe she would like some pretty rocks, put together with the gut from the local deer like animal, the Speckled Stone Deer, though they called it the Tasty Grass Eater.
So he went down to the river and collected some shiny stones. He tried putting gut through them, but it wouldn't work. So he frowned and thought with his big brain. What could he do? He picked up another stone and tried again. This time it worked. He looked at the stone puzzled. Why did this one work when the last one didn't? He looked and saw the difference. Rock 2 had a hole in it.
So he looked at the rest of his rocks. The ones with holes he kept, and the rest he threw back in the river. Then he strung them up together and took it off to Sophie Timber.
He shyly gave it to her. She looked at it, examined it and put it on. Then she smiled and kissed Rylee Stone on the cheek. Now they were both smiling.
And that was the first Valentines Day.
